Real Photo Postcards - A Home Based Hobby and Business to Enjoy
Collecting vintage Real photo postcards (RPPC) is not only an interesting and enjoyable hobby, it is also an opportunity to earn a useful extra income in your spare time. With so many vintage RPPC postcards no longer within the protection of their 70 year copyright, collectors can scan high resolution images to create modern photo prints showing old British town and village scenes to sell framed or unframed at local markets, car boot sales or online.
You've probably noticed over the years that many pubs, shops and offices like to publicly display photos of their town and the source of many such images are real photo postcards. So why not get involved and grab your share of the RPPC vintage photo business?
While common cards offering less interesting images can sell for just a couple of pounds, be prepared to pay £20 or more for the better cards likely to create prints of real interest. Remember, once you own the original card, there's no limit to the number of prints you can create and sell provided the copyright of the postcard has expired (usually 70 years after original publication).
