TypoSpy Targets Bad Spelling in Auction Listings
A new website has been launched which locates online auctions that contain spelling mistakes or typographic errors which can restrict competition among bidders and lead to low priced sales.
Searching out bad spelling can prove to be a powerful tool for online auction buyers. With millions of items constantly on offer, buyers have to rely heavily on auction site search engines to find products. A simple keyword typo in a sales listing can make some online auctions much harder to find. This is what TypoSpy looks to capitalise upon and the service is available entirely free of charge.
TypoSpy couldn't be any easier to use. Simply enter a target keyword in the search box and hit the button! Intuitive search algorithms filter results for both the obvious mispellings and the less obvious typos where the listing seller has mistakenly hit an adjacent key on the keyboard perhaps.
The website advises users to keep searches broad by only searching for single keywords as this generates more results. However this doesn't restrict the use of search phrases. We tested out a few searches and quickly learned the challenge is to find some niche words that generate many more results than others.
